About ZILQUE
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Fashion design ran through Liesbeth Verhelst’s
veins since childhood. Whilst other
kids were outside playing, Liesbeth stayed
indoors experimenting with cloth and her
mother’s sewing machine.
At age 16 Liesbeth started learning to make
her own clothing. After moving to
Antwerp for studying purposes, she no longer
found the time to maintain these activities.
However, the need to create and design
forced her to keep experimenting with
fabric, colours and patterns, resulting in
the conception of very personal styles and
methods which can be found in all ZiLQUE
collections.

What started as a challenge for herself resulted in success. The ZILQUE collections expanded
in both value and size by adding new and original high-quality women’s handbags.
The first wave consisted 3 unique purses which were sold in a matter of days in a modern
well-known Belgian fashion-store.
